2010

Quickly hailed as the most improved driver of 2010 thanks to some excellent performances in early races, including top-ten finishes in Malaysia and at home in Spain. Doesn't score again until Abu Dhabi season finale, but regularly out-qualifies more experienced team mate Buemi.

2009

Competes in Formula Renault 3.5 Series. Replaces Sebastien Bourdais in Toro Rosso race seat from the Hungarian Grand Prix onwards. Competent but low key debut F1 campaign is enough to see him retain the drive for 2010.

2008

Switches to British Formula Three and becomes the youngest-ever driver to take the championship during his debut year, after taking five wins. Rewarded with a Formula One test with Red Bull.

2007

Completes another season in Formula Renault Italy and Formula Renault Euro, finishes runner-up in the Italian championship and fifth in the European.

2006

Stays to complete a full season of Formula Renault Euro and takes one podium. Simultaneously races in the Formula Renault Italy, clinches a podium in the summer series, and the winter series championship after four wins.

2005

Competes in the Formula Junior series, scoring two wins and finishing third in the championship. Also takes part in two Formula Renault Euro races.
